Easy Japanese Language Workshop

Easy Japanese Language Workshop

We held the online workshop Practical Easy Japanese.

Is saying ‘I speak a little English, so I'll be fine’ really enough?
As society embraces diversity and we increasingly meet people from different backgrounds, Easy Japanese—Japanese designed for universal accessibility—is essential knowledge.

Our lecturer was Momoka Koyama, a Japanese-language teacher and former community development coordinator at the Nakafurano Town Office who planned Japanese-language and cultural events for international residents. Participants learned Easy Japanese useful when speaking with or guiding people whose language and values differ from their own.

Date: Thursday, February 27, 8:00–9:15 p.m.
Venue: Online via Zoom

Message from the Lecturer
Easy Japanese is Japanese phrased with consideration so that international residents can understand it. It is now used in many situations as a way to communicate information.
This workshop introduces the basic rules for creating Easy Japanese and helpful points for conversation. If you interact with international residents at work or in daily life, why not take this opportunity to make Easy Japanese part of your communication?
