Speaking as a ‘Living Mannequin’ at the Living Library

Anna Matsukura, representative of the Ethical Model Association, appeared as a ‘living book’ at Living Library, an interactive event inspired by the Human Library concept founded in Denmark.

Under the title ‘The Human Mannequin,’ she shared conflicts she experienced in the modeling industry and her journey from being told ‘models are mannequins’ to becoming someone who chooses and communicates for herself.

Expression begins with choosing.
Learning the story behind a job, choosing from one's own values, and communicating in one's own words—through dialogue with participants, she presented the idea of an Ethical Model who has a voice.
