Disaster Preparedness Seminar with Makopi and Noto Recovery Support Event

We welcomed disaster preparedness specialist Makopi to lead the online seminar ‘Make Preparedness Personal: 60 Minutes for the Future—Disaster Readiness for Every Individual.’

Exploring preparedness through an ethical lens, the event considered how each person's home and circumstances call for different plans. Participants treated disasters as a personal concern and shared practical steps online, including checking nearby shelters and evacuation routes and reviewing household emergency supplies.

Participants also received information on recovery support for the Noto Peninsula planned for Disaster Preparedness Month in September 2025, connecting learning with opportunities for concrete action.

The Ethical Model Association will continue addressing social issues through an ethical perspective under the themes of building a sustainable society and helping one another.

Lecturer Profile
Makopi studied international cooperation at university and volunteered after the Great East Japan Earthquake during her first year. After working at a textile trading company and a consulting firm, she founded Colorful Bosai Creation Inc. in February 2024. By communicating meaningful preparedness tailored to each person, she works toward a society in which no one loses their life to a natural disaster.
A visit to Rikuzentakata in Iwate for 3.11 recovery support led her to return for more than ten years. She now divides her time between Shonan/Chigasaki in Kanagawa and Shonan/Rikuzentakata in Iwate.
Under the theme ‘Make preparedness happy and colorful,’ she offers lessons and events that help each person discover and put into practice an approach suited to their individuality.
